When Activision released Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, they set a Guinness World Record for the most pre-ordered full game ever. I’m sure that we gamers can all understand why players would want to be the first to experience this new and exciting title. Unfortunately, like any other game, it has its glitches and bugs. Players strive for perfection in their games and quickly reported any malfunctions; thankfully those bugs were corrected by Activision with patches as soon as they were discovered. Though some gamers are still having difficulties with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, there is one band-aid solution available: downloading the newest update (patch 1.0.0.1). The new update, which was released on December 13, 2012, has some great enhancements. First and foremost, it fixes a problem with the leaderboards so that you no longer see players with negative scores and other strange statistics. Along with fixing the leaderboard glitch, this patch also fixes a problem where players could create lobbies but then be unable to join them. With the patch 1.0.0.1 there should be no more people stuck in limbo unable to interact with one another. In addition, the patch notes state that the patch fixes a problem where players would hear isolated audio from other Players when in a Party. I’m sure when you’re in the middle of a battle, you don’t want to hear your worst enemy chatting away in another room! With this latest update, you will no longer have to worry about hearing every word they say. There are several other improvements which have been made with patch 1.0.0.1. Some bugs have been fixed and others have been noted as ‘fixed in future versions’. It appears that Activision has been tracking down problems that players experience and addressing them individually until they are corrected for good. One of the most exciting enhancements with patch 1.0.0.1 is the new Hardened and Prestige difficulties. Hardened is comparable to the Veteran difficulty, but only those with a Black Ops Pass can access it. Hardened will be more challenging than anything you’ve played before as it increases the damage that players take as well as how quickly their health regenerates. If you think that Hardened is too difficult, then you might be interested in Prestige mode which is even more difficult than Hardened and not available to players without a Black Ops Pass or season pass for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 multiplayer. The pass is priced at $49. 99 USD. It features five DLC Map packs offered over the course of three months with each pack containing 4 new multiplayer maps along with an exclusive Bonus Map, in-game scorestreak, and bonus items. The Season Pass is also available for Season Pass owners of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 to purchase separately in addition to the in-game bonuses included with the DLC map packs. The in-game bonuses are not eligible for purchase with Prestige or Hardened difficulty levels.
