The story tells about three young people from different backgrounds who meet in college and confront the daily struggles of their chosen paths in life. The two young people meet at college and Akshay ends up falling in love with Aditi. Aditi however, refuses to accept his love as she believes that Akshay is incapable of loving her for who she is. The show further details the struggles faced by the lead couple throughout their journey of discovering love. The show also features Nimrat Khaira, Gunjan Vijaya and Shashank Vyas in guest appearances. The story of the second season revolves around Gunjan (Arun Sagar) and Pragya (Sakshi Tanwar). Gunjan is not happy with his job, which he feels is below his level of intelligence. He also has no friends or family in India as his parents live in the U.K. For this reason, Gunjan also feels like he doesn't belong here. Pragya on the other hand is a very ambitious and talented artist who struggles with her finances due to her profession. She wants to make it big but struggles with her financial status. The two come across each other at an art exhibition hosted by Pragya's friend who is also Gunjan's friend. Gunjan and Pragya then discuss their dreams and ambitions and develop a mutual respect and admiration for each other. The story then follows Gunjan and Pragya as they try to achieve their dreams without compromising on the people they love. The show also features Harshad Arora, Mayuri Kango and Neelam Sivia in guest appearances. Karan Singh Grover said that he is very excited to be playing Akshay in Meri Aashiqui .
